Hey Abi, I am second year law student at the university of southampton. I've not applied to any vacation schemes yet. But should I focus of getting good semester 1 grades because I got an overall 2;2 in first year university to should I still attempt to submit a few applications?

I received a Dentons SJT (or Higher Legal Test or something along those lines) after not receiving anything last year!! Very exciting to see progress, even it is just a step.
Hi Abbie, I’ve sent you a pm asking about the Paul, Weiss application form, just wondering whether it would be better for me to ask this on the VS forum? Thanks
hey i j thought i would pm you to talk ab the bristol app!! when did you apply? also would you mind sharing your scores on the test - quite worried ab mine!
hey!! i saw on the forum you mentioned about the simmons test: for my tech verbal i got average, numerical towards the top end and then i got 9,9,8 - so do you think the average one will mean rejection?
Hi, i've seen that you were posting about Brabners TC. I'm wondering if you were able to get past the application step? If so, any tips? I work full time and am finding it super difficult to write about extra-curriculars etc!
Got my first rejection by Bird & Bird around 2 pm whilst I was doing my Osborne Clarke assessment for the Vacation scheme
Speaking of which, I flopped it because I didn't get to finish the second part of the test (2 questions away), but I think the answers that I submitted were more correct than not, so maybe that's not too bad.
My favourite part of researching is when I research on firm A and come across an important deal it has worked on, and the firm in the opposite side the firm that my next application's gonna be about. It has happened 4 times, and it makes me feel so happy and excited that I don't have to do two different research to highlight a case, phew!
Hi Abbie, I had a quick question about an application prompt: The world is changing in the legal sector - how do you think the profession is changing? Do you think it’s too niche to focus on the rise of blockchain in IP, even though the firm has a strong IP practice? I’m wondering whether it’s safer to take a broader approach instead.
I love attending conferences more than Open Days, coz here I'm one of the very few students and I can get to talk in depth with top 25 law firm representatives that work in the practice areas I'm interested in knowing more about.
