Hi all! I was wondering if I could get some insight from anyone with more legal experience than me.

I am looking at applying to an international White & Case paralegal role. It is the first of its kind I am applying to, so I am slightly unfamiliar with the process.

Would you recommend I include a cover letter? There is no mention on the application form over what information to include, but I am aware that a CV is needed (and likely an academic transcript).

What should I include in my cover letter, and should I address it to the jurisdiction's office that I am applying for?

Thank you in advance!

Hi there,

I presume there should be a section which includes a space for a cover letter/application questions. Cover letters are more typical for paralegal applications though. Where this is not directly specified for a role, I still include one regardless. Often times the additional attachements section should accommodate for this. That said, I still do know of some firms that do not need one, and base the quality of your application on what’s on your CV. In any case, your CV should be very strong and clear - 2 pages max.

On your second question, I also recommend addressing the CL to the specific office, ensuring to include the office address and the proper formalities.

With regards content, you should aim to cover the basic why CL, why the paralegal role in that specific department, what draws you to the firm more generally, and lastly why you.

Best of luck and feel free to pop in any more questions.

Have you had any success with your paralegal search? I finished my SQE LLM in September and have had no luck! Everyone wants experience but I cannot get the experience!
