when a question is asking us to discuss a 'recent' setback - what constitutes as recent? I'm a recent graduate so would discussing something from my 2nd/3rd year of uni be recent?

Hiya @lawyersum

I think since you’re a recent graduate, something from your second or third year of university should be fine. I'm curious about what @Jessica Booker would say here, but I’d avoid drawing on examples from secondary school or even the first year of your undergraduate studies. This might be considered a bit far in the past to illustrate the abilities and qualities you bring to the table today. I also think the more recent in time, the better. Drawing on an outdated example could have the rhetorical effect of suggesting a lack of recent challenges or growth, which might undermine the impact of your answer. By focusing on a setback from your second or third years, you can demonstrate how your abilities have developed and potentially discuss some of the things you've continued to do to avoid similar setbacks in the future. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Would it be reasonable to send W&C grad rec an email? I sent off my Winter VS application 5 weeks ago and have not heard anything - I haven't been rejected nor invited to AC/VI etc. The scheme is in a few weeks so I don't really have positive expectations at this point lol

hey - wondering if anyone knows why Clifford chance has sent a wg invite even though I passed last year ? Does this mean they no longer take your old score OR are they allowing you the choice of a redo ?

    Any info/clarification is appreciated.

I passed the WG last year and haven’t received another WG.

If you passed last year, you should get the following email:

“I am pleased to confirm that as you previously completed and passed the test within the last two recruitment cycles with us, you do not need to do the test again this year.

Your application will now be progressed to the next stage of our process: application review. We do not recruit on a rolling basis and therefore all applications will be reviewed once the deadline has closed. Please expect to hear whether we would like to progress your application further, after this date.

You will be informed whether you are invited to the video interview stage week commencing 2nd December.”
