LPC student here! I would say that refamiliarising yourself with the principles for tort and land would definitely be helpful. Trusts might be helpful it depends on what electives you choose. You don’t need to know these in great detail before you start because they do signpost due to the undergraduate areas that you need to become familiar with again as you go through the courses, but, if it feels like a different memory, I would go through those two and some contract law if you intend to do M&A or commercial law as an elective. @Jessica Booker for one page cover letters, is it okay to go from the last paragraph to a "yours sincerely," to save space, or should we try to include a one line "thank you for your time and consideration....."

@Jessica Booker I am currently applying for direct Tcs, but have an upcoming Vac Scheme this summer. Is it bad if I put in the work experience section that I received an offer for a vac scheme at another firm in my Tc applications?

so it’s an hour long interview and initially it wasn’t specified what type of interview it would be and when I reached out to grac red to ask they said it would be a competency based interview, would you still suggest i prep for commercial awareness or motivational based qs because the interviews on short notice and I don’t have a lot of time

any advice would be incredible thank you!

Yes - you can just go from the last paragraph to the sign off.

I would reference you have upcoming schemes somewhere in your application unless the firms are incredibly different to one another (eg niche family law firm vs big US firm that is PE/M&A focused).

Competencies can include motivational and commercial awareness questions, so I would prepare for those too if you can.

I completely forgot about my Farrer application until I got a PFO (written application stage).

I have a TC at one of their competitors so I think it goes to show how luck is a big factor in this process … keep going, you got this !!

Might be a stupid worry, but I’ve heard Slaughters really care about typos. I’ve just realised that my cover letter doesn’t have a full stop on the final sentence!
Has anyone ever received an interview despite small typos?
