5 minutes - brief introduction given by associate and graduate recruitment
55 minutes - one of one interview with associate and graduate recruitment each asking questions
What is your best advice for each aspect of the assessment on the day? Please break this down for each assessment. This can include advice for preparation, as well as tips for the day.
1. I advise them to know their application and what their unique selling points are.
2. Have a general list of competencies you can use to answer questions (teamwork, communication, leadership)
3. It will feel a little unnatural and scripted because it is over Zoom, but try to relax and answer honestly.
4. Listen to the question carefully and then give your response. Do not anticipate questions and then give an answer.
5. Understand the actual role of trainees and how you fit into the team.
6. Understand why Shearman is different to other firms. Be able to compare and contrast similar firms.
7. Try to maintain focus throughout. It is only one interview for an hour, unlike other assessment processes.
