When I applied last year I used this section to highlight both the range of events I attended and what I had learnt from each event, such as understanding the role of a commercial lawyer, the firm or more general commercial awareness etc.

I believe the online test is Stage 2 in the application process for Mayer Brown, so your appication has to be progressed by Grad Rec. It took me 18 days to hear back from mine.
I have a friend who applied for a TC at the end of July and has received a few emails from grad rec stating that they are still considering applications, including one a few weeks back. Is anyone else in a similar position and still not heard back re. the last application cycle?
Does anyone have any advice on how to approach the "why us?" part of Ashurst covering letter? As the application also asks "How is Ashurst different to the other firms you have applied to? (250 words max)*" , which seems to overlap.
Depends very much on the firm. I was able to take the time off for mine but was on a much shorter contract. Ultimatley your Vac Scheme should be prioritised over your paralegal role and I'm sure most companies will appreciate that.
After 2 failed cycles finally got my first vac at Macfarlanes! (got called today from last thursdays AC). Thanks to everyone who's been posting on here has been a massive help in the app cycle
