TC/VS applications: which firms are especially strict on academics?
Which firms are particularly strict on academics? I have heard Slaughter and May are and a number of US firms (don’t plan to apply to US firms in any case). Are there others?
I graduated with a 2.1 (non-law) from a Russell...
Hi all,
Has anyone studied the PGDL part-time at Birkbeck?
I’ll be working full time alongside it but am wondering what the teaching and experience is like? Will it be any better/worse than BPP or the University of Law?
Likewise, I’d be interested to hear of any experiences working alongside...
Had a rejection post case study, said I’m on a reserve list If anyone pulls out...
Is it reasonable to ask for feedback at this stage? The next stage was the final stage, with a group exercise and 2x interviews.
Yes. When I sent my case study they replied saying thank you and that I would hear back by middle of September at the latest.
EDIT: Sorry, I was mistaken. They said mid-September in the initial invite email with the details of the three assessments (VI, McQuaig and case study). Fourth para from...

I did one for the spring workshop, all I'd say is that when they say you can't prepare, they mean it... The questions may have changed but they seemed more about assessing your personality/character than anything else. It was a while ago that I did them though.

I’ve just been offered a job in my current industry that matches the NQ salary of a lot of firms plus an average salary pension. Though the scope for increase is limited and bonuses are small.
I’m still very keen on the switch to law but I...
You may have done this already but I wouldn’t round the single year averages when calculating the overall average.
Personally I just did the calculation in one go:
(2nd year weighted average + 3rd year weighted average)
1/3(2nd year total/number of modules) + 2/3(3rd year total/number of...
