Hi! No problem. So we don't communicate any outcomes until after all of our Assessments have been completed - we'll aim to do this by the 1st or 2nd week in March. For the case study, our assessors are looking at how well you are able to understand and communicate the case study.

Hi, so sorry for missing this post at the time. Not sure if this still helps but: - No, doing the SQE wouldn't disadvantage you in the application process, we consider candidates who have self funded the LPC or SQE in the same way as anyone else. In some ways it can be an advantage because, if...

Hi Imran, we've updated our application questions so you won't be able to submit exactly the same one. However, some questions are similar, such as 'why commercial law' - for those you're fine to submit a similar response as before as I can imagine your motivations might not have changed much.

Hi, assessments are not automated, we read every application form and progression to the assessment stage is based on the application answers you give. We have never previously released scores or advertised the benchmark we use for online assessments, so nothing has changed in this regard. We...

Hi, no problem, thanks for your questions! Yes, we will have a Reed Smith and commercial awareness question on our application form so recommend you showcasing your research around one of our industry groups there. We aren't looking for in-depth commercial knowledge, but evidence that you have...

Yes, we will be using the Amberjack Assessments. They will be tailored to Reed Smith but if you've done assessments through Amberjack before you might be used to the style.

Hi, yes, there is still a video interview. It is part of the blended assessment, although you can save your progress so don't have to do all of the assessments in one sitting

Hi, glad to hear this! :) We don't currently have any vacancies in our Pro Bono team, although Pro Bono is very much a collaborative effort so lawyers from all departments are encouraged to get involved.

Hi! Good to hear from you again :) I would say one of the most impressive things is when candidates have a really clear understanding of what their strengths are, and can provide a variety of examples to evidence that. Showing that you have spent time researching the firm and incorporating that...

We do have current/future trainees who got a 2.2 in their first year. If you're able to outline the mitigating circumstances and are confident in achieving a 2.1 overall then please do apply!

Hi, congratulations on recently finishing your degree! We (and other firms) will also accept applications from those who have completed the SQE, although we do have our own programme for future trainees who haven't yet completed it. One advantage can be that although we are currently recruiting...

That sounds like a great approach. I'd also focus on something things that are specific to the open day that you wouldn't find on the firm website, like networking with current lawyers, understanding the culture first hand etc.

No problem! Yes, even if the interview question doesn’t specifically ask for an example, I’d recommend including one if the question allows. Interview techniques like STAR can really help structure responses. In terms of how to stand out, other than using relevant examples, showcasing that you...
