I've just received an assessment centre invite from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner for a direct TC, however, I accepted a training contract at another City firm about three weeks ago. As a result, I will not be able to attend, I applied on the 7th of June if anyone is interested and still waiting...
According to the Legal Cheek article, it appears that the majority of Hogan Lovells vac schemers were offered a TC. Those who did not have instead been offered a place on their Winter Scheme. I honestly prefer this approach over having to participate in a virtual scheme.
I completely understand that there may no be other alternatives. For me, being from a non-traditional background, I was looking forward to working in London for a few weeks, none of my family members have ever worked in the City, it is all very new to me so this is something a virtual scheme can...
Personally, I feel a big factor for undertaking a vac scheme (other than securing a TC!) is to experience working in the firm and getting a real feel of the culture, either by being in their offices and/or interacting with fee-earners, in person. I cannot help but feel that the 'virtual' route...
When did you both apply? I have a place on the CMS Academy (London) this summer and completed an AC at CMS in mid-Jan. I applied in late November and received my WG test invite the next day. I think they are running AC's through till early-mid March though so I wouldn't give up hope yet!
I have an AG (London) assessment centre on Monday (submitted my VI about 6 weeks ago). Unfortunately, this might be their last AC as I was only given one date option and there were no slots for the following week or so. I could be completely wrong though!
Hi Jessica,
I am worried about a hypothetical situation. I have a summer vacation scheme in July, and I have an AC coming up for a vac scheme at another firm. However, If I was to get on this particular firm's vac scheme, I would have to choose their easter date as their summer date clashes...
I have been ghosted post-video interview, submitted about four weeks ago (London). I emailed them about when I would hear, and if I could be solely considered for Spring as I have a Summer vac scheme that clashes with AG's summer date. They just said that VI's are still under review...
Hey! I submitted my VI on the 14th January (London) and I have not heard back. I emailed the grad rec team about whether I could be considered solely for spring as I have a summer vac scheme that clashes with AG's summer date. They just said that VI's are still under review, however, I can't...
Nice of Clyde & Co to send me two rejections haha. Not fussed as I have a CMS Academy offer!! I received the offer last Monday if anyone finds that useful.
My timeline:
Sent application- 26th November
Test invite- 27th November
Video Interview completed- 20th December
Assessment Centre invite- January 6th
Assessment Centre completed-January 16th
CMS Academy Offer- January 20th
For anyone who has completed the CMS video interview, how long did it take for them to come back to you with an outcome? I submitted mine on the 20th of December.
The grad brochure has the next stage, after the SST, as 'research questions'. This explains why the initial app was so short. This contradicts with the info they provide in the FAQ's. What an odd process! I guess they just send us a second application form haha.
