What is the recommended format for a 'briefing note' in a written exercise? It is supposed to be 2-pages typed and based off information given in a pack. @Jessica Booker @axelbeugre if you had any insights I would be grateful!
I spend one day the day before researching the firm and supplementing the list of potential interview Q/As I already have. This may seem like less time compared with what other people have said but I find a day of intense revision enough and it's fresh in my brain the next day :) I've had offers...
I would read your TC thoroughly and check there aren't any clauses preventing you from participating in another firm's vac scheme, then sign the TC so it doesn't expire. In the event you convert the VS to a TC, you can renege on your first offer. I'm in the same situ and this is what I have done :)
I'm not sure but it could be because 2021 A-levels were teacher-predicted and inflated due to Covid, meaning there was a bigger university intake and now that cohort is in their third year? Could be a possibility
I was also told 'I look forward to seeing you around the corridors' by a senior associate and then didn't get the VS 😊 Something else at the AC must have massively let me down ahaha
I've done this in 2 interviews and got both offers - the key is to explain the impact on deals, I talked about M&A from buy-side and sell-side perspectives and PE (particularly LBOs) ☺️
Progressed to final interview following Kirkland AC :) they said they've decided to 'fast-track' some people to the training contract app process, which is just code for they're not running the vac scheme as advertised (which they haven't done for the past few years)
For those who have completed other vac schemes having already signed a TC, was it very clear in your contract whether you were able to do vac schemes or not?
