I'm not entirely sure but I think it's to do with formatting? PDF files tend to be more consistent, that's why I convert my CV into a pdf so I know it'll be the same no matter what computer it's opened on
I think if you link it to law firms as a business (i.e. how will the Big 4's reputational damage help attract business to law firms) it is a good idea, especially if you link the answer to current scandals we're seeing in the news- can I ask what the question actually is?

I applied for Weil before Christmas, took me two weeks to hear about the next stage but I think they're also busy with spring vac scheme so may take longer! I don't think it's wrong to email but I also don't think it's uncommon for firms to take about a month for initial app review either!
