Hi @Moon,
I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling this way! First things first, take some time to relax and get out of the law application mindset for a bit - when I’m feeling down surrounding myself with family and friends always helps! 🙂
Secondly, I would take the time to reflect on any feedback...
Hi! I have just finished the LPC and I have several heavy binders and lots of textbooks. I’m starting my TC in a couple of months (hopefully!) and I was unsure whether to keep any of my hard copy notes or whether this is unnecessary. I have heard conflicting things. Thanks!
(ofc planning to...
I reached out to a couple of future trainees at Ashurst and had a chat with them about their experiences on vac schemes etc and what made them accept their offer. I felt I was able to give genuine answers in my application/interview based on these conversations and it showed I had gone the extra...
I did three short paragraphs
As already mentioned, they are not looking for anything specific. I used this question to highlight the range of events, presentations, and open days I had attended. These were all at different firms.
I had only had direct contact with the firm at a law fair, so I...
I’ve got the core guide this year and it seems helpful and I imagine closer to exams it will be even more so. I’ve been told not to bother with the case book from former students but that the core guide is definitely worth it
I am in a Facebook chat with some people attending Leeds and I was the only one to be able to access the Hub materials before this weekend - I wouldn’t worry too much as a lot of people are in the same boat!
Hopefully this all gets sorted for people as soon as possible!
It also may be worth contacting your tutors (once you know who they are) and letting them know you haven’t had access to the materials - just so they’re aware you may not have read the stuff before your workshop
My calendar became available yesterday via BPP Outlook - so I’d maybe check if yours is there too. Have you been unable to access the pre reading on the Hub?
Hi everyone. Not sure if this is the same for others, but today I logged into my Hub account and I had 6 Apply activities for the Induction workshops under ‘My Learning’. I did not receive a notification telling me these were uploaded - so it may be worth checking.
Has anybody received a questionnaire from BPP regarding a move back to in-person teaching? I haven’t, but I know London-based students that have. I am considering moving out (I am not studying in London) and would be even more inclined to do so if in-person teaching at some stage is a likelihood!
Somebody I know was told there is no pre-reading, and then the email I received yesterday mentioned the Public Law reading.
I think people have heard different things from BPP so I’m just taking it every day as it comes at this point to avoid deliberating!
The email I attached earlier makes it seem like we have materials to view before the Public Law workshops. To echo @Alice G, I think these materials are not on the Hub yet but will be in the next few days.
To avoid confusion, I simply meant the materials will be on the Hub, not that they...
I applied last year and I think the questions have changed slightly. I started the application form and clicked through the questions by typing “XYZ” or something. I then saved the form as a draft and came back to the form once I had completed my answers on a separate word document.
The attached screenshot of an email I received from BPP may help. I believe the Public Law induction reading is what you are referring to. This is on the Hub and seems to be the only substantive reading on there before induction week!
Besides what is on the Hub (basic introductions to the courses), I was told that there is no “pre-reading” as such. We should also get timetables in our induction week, along with our PA allocations.
I was also disappointed about the online materials (I prefer to study from hard copies). BPP...
I believe their postponed spring vac scheme is currently running and they have already given TCs following the winter/summer vac schemes. I imagine they are waiting until they’ve finished the spring scheme to get back to direct TC - but this is just a guess and I could be wrong!
