I had my interview on 24th September and they were still holding ACs on that day for the direct tc so I reckon it'll be a while till we hear back anyway. I've spoken to others on my AC and no one's had any rejections so far from the partner interview.
Yep it is mostly competency and motivational questions. But a friend of mine who did the TI last year said she got a question that asked her to mention a recent deal the firm was involved in and why it interested her
They always say it'll be around a week till you hear back but it often takes longer. My friend who applied for their direct TC last year only got his offer in December and so did a majority of the people who were on his AC. Try not to worry!
Memos are usually for partners/ associates or a supervisor. Letters or emails are for clients. You will usually be told what needs to be included. For instance you might be told that the partner needs a summary of key issues raised in the materials provided and any next steps that you have...
I just saw a few people who did the summer vac scheme get TCs so I think they'll start holding ACs for the direct TC once they've given out all the offers from the vac scheme.
I'm not entirely sure if its the same for those who've had ACs sorry. I assumed it meant that they've given out all the ACs since they filled out all the spots for that. Maybe reach out to grad rec?

In case anyone was wondering- Just emailed Sidley and they said that they're still in the process of reviewing feedback and will get in touch as soon as possible
A case study can take the form of either an interview or a written exercise. So you could be given a case study to read through and then the partner would have a chat with you about it. Or you could read through the information brief and write your response which is mostly about advising a...
Just had my Sidley interview which was supposed to last an hour but ended in like 20 minutes. The partner was like "yea these things normally only last around half an hour" but I think she just really didn't like me lol
I tried to for most of them but not all. I'd say a mix is good because the question still asks what 'you' think the qualities of a good lawyer are. So it's quite subjective and linking stuff back to yourself is good if they apply.
I had actually applied for their winter scheme but they said they ran out of interview slots and that they'd consider me for the spring and summer schemes instead so that's what I have my AC for. From experience, they usually get back to you within 3 weeks but they did say that they had received...
