Just wanted to say I took the VI yesterday (and it went veeeeery badly for me) and there actually was a big motivational question (which required good knowledge of the firm and its work) in there.
I've completed the interview and what I can say is that the practice VI really does help. There's no way to predict what question you will get though, for me it was mostly strength-based + one motivation question, I got none of the ones Daniel got last year nor any of the ones I got in the...
I think in researching a particular sector (for question 1), it could also be interesting to have a look at what Bird & Bird lawyers themselves have written about it. They do write quite a lot of articles on different topics (you can easily find links to all those on their linkedin etc.) and...
Hi, you might want to check this thread (https://www.thecorporatelawacademy.com/forum/threads/bird-bird-video-interview.1857/), Daniel Boden shared his experience from last year and it seems there's little use in sharing questions as we might all get different ones ! :) Maybe the practice ones...
I don't remember my VI super super well but I do know it was fairly straightfoward like Why law, Why you, Why Bristows although not worded that way. My main tip is to relax and have a few arguments ready for those questions without having too much of a pre-written answer either so you can be...
Hello, would anyone be willing to share how long they waited before hearing back from Bird & Bird after first sending in their application? Many thanks :)
Thank you for your kind words! It's a little disheartening because my results for the WG was quite good so I thought I stood a chance with the new process (and I'm actually a graduate). But that's just how it is, on to the next one for me :)
I applied on September 25th and did the WG on...
Good luck to those taking the test and those waiting for the next step! :) Do let us know!
I submitted my application on Wednesday last week and still haven't heard anything, hopefully next week.
This is very likely! Not to mention, they may also offer to transfer some people currently still on hold to the Spring Scheme if after the ongoing ACs they find the Winter one to be fully booked.
It may be a very different test then. If I remember correctly, last year the invitation email even included a link to useful (and free!) practice tests. If they didn't include anything like that this time around, then very likely no prep is needed.
Also I believe this year the testing happens...
Thanks :)
Oddly, I received another "under review" email today, exactly the same one as in September, as though I had just taken the online tests o_O Maybe it just means my application is really under review this time lol
I don't know about this year, but last year it was a "standard" verbal reasoning test and a logical/inductive reasoning test (with the shapes and stuff). It does seem like they've changed a couple things in their application process this year though.
Hi, I've just been invited to a second round interview and I was wondering if anyone had any information as to what to expect, particularly from the 1h written exercise, thanks in advance to anyone who can help :)
