    Slaughter & May Winter workshop

    You don't need to change the cover letter much at all. You can keep it pretty much identical to the one you submitted for the workshop, just with tiny updates if anything has changed since you wrote it. Since you have an interview guaranteed it's become pretty much irrelevant.

    Hang in there, guys! Wishing all of you good luck. If it helps, Slaughters has always been ridiculously slow to reply to things. I applied for a vac scheme last year on 3rd October (literally two days after the application window opened) and didn't hear back until halfway through January!

    Definitely still a point - as people have pointed out before, open days/workshops etc are often way more competitive than things like vac schemes.

    I believe it's nearer 100%. It's not in the 'fair proportion from direct' column, according to Jess' formula it does recruit mostly from VS.

    Congrats! My biggest piece of interview advice is to never be surprised by anything. No matter what they ask, or how weird/difficult to answer the question is, take a moment to think about it.

    Latham and Travers seem to have a direct TC route open but will recruit the vast majority/all of their trainees from the vac scheme, since the intake is so small.
