From what I remember from their open day last year, they're really proud of their sector expertise, particularly in retail. They also have other projects happening which I can't quite remember - a consultancy arm that they can also offer to clients I believe?
I don't think it's ever recommended...
Also invited to White & Case interview! Extremely shocked as I submitted my VI almost two weeks ago and had prepared myself for the rejection - don't give up hope if you're still waiting!
How long did it take people to hear back from W&C post-VI? very nervous as it is my last app of the cycle I am waiting on, after two rejections in the last 2 days.
Would be grateful for an opinion on the following:
In answering the question 'what is a business you admire', is it necessary to link it back to the firm? Is it more hinting that I should choose a client of the firm?
Is anyone who recently completed the Mayer Brown phone interview still waiting to hear the outcome? It's been four days now, odd as other people seem to have heard the next day, regardless of whether it was a positive or negative result. I have emailed grad rec but no response so far.
Just to clarify, if the deadline to complete a VI is 28 Nov 00:00, that refers to midnight between the 28/29, and not 27/28 right?
(Also, any and all tips for W&C VI would be immensely appreciated!!!!)
I personally answered 'why Macfarlanes' and then wove in my career ambitions throughout as I felt artificial in stating the ambition in it's own right and didn't have too much to say about it really - but obviously there is more than one right way to go about the question.
It's possible. I submitted an application on the 30th Jan last year and passed the test, but by then they had filled up all of their AC spaces and stopped the process. I'm not sure how much of a difference a week would make, but it can't hurt to try.
