I would say to reach out to them and explain the situation. I am pretty sure you are not blacklisted or anything but a simple explanation will go a long way, so I would do that in your shoes. However, congratulations for getting the open day, it is already a good achievement in itself!
It is definitely difficult for everyone and I totally relate to this feeling. Last year, when I was applying, it really took a toll on me, let's not even dive into the rejections which are to be expected.
I would say that one of the most important things for me was taking time out and focus on...
Paragraphs are what law firms expect here, unless stated otherwise! However, if you are in doubt, emailing grad recruitment to ask them this question might be the best course of action. Alternatively, talking to people who recently got a training contract at the firm might be a good place to...
Hey @lola15167
The question is certainly a bit challenging to navigate but what I would do to tackle is:
You were perfectly right in focusing on two parts. By recognising them, you are more likely to answer all the parts of the question provided. I certainly used to jump to the answer...
Congratulations!
here is is the link to the post I just made with some questions that might come up: https://www.thecorporatelawacademy....ns-discussion-thread-2023-24.8037/post-151491
Good luck with the video interview!
They do not look at anything! They only focus on the interview or Assessment Centre where they are able to assess you totally. When considering whether to extend you an offer, then they look at your CV and information to confirm their ideas. That is my understanding of it!

Hey @Tintin06,
I only had one written exercise which was a case study which we had to read and answer 5 questions on it.
Some tips that I have are:
Make sure to read over the written material at least twice if time allows it. The first time you are familiarising yourself with the content and...
@al97 Congratulations on your paralegal job, this is amazing and you should be so proud of you! As you said, this is not the end but it is an amazing step towards that finish line as this experience will substantially help you secure a training contract, I am sure of it.
It is so inspiring to...
Hey @Aga123+'
I totally agree with you, the word count is a bit daunting but it is basically asking you to be succinct and go straight to the point, which I guess is one of the main skills as a lawyer.
What I did was:
Pick two reasons why I was interested in Goodwin, whether it is its focus...
Some firms will be very chill about it and move you to wherever you want, whereas some others will be quite strict. I would suggest to contact graduate recruitment and see what they say.
Hey @elainehua,
I think that some people have received assessment centres' invitations already so it might be worth contacting HR again asking them for some feedback/ or results so that you can prepare.
Hey @flower;
I think it depends on the firms and the circumstances. Last year I have done all my assessment centres online, however certain firms were holding them in person. Despite this, if a firm is holding them in person and you are incapable of attending for a serious reason, I am sure...
