Hey @F12M34L,
I would say that there are some things online that you could check out:
I used youtube extensively when I was preparing for case study and written exercises. Some of the youtuber I was watching are: Idin Sabahipour (an Associate at CMS), Gordon Chung (Associate at Baker...
I personally would not count it as a small trainee cohort, but I guess it depends on points of view. It is definitely less than 100 people on the training programme that you might find a Clifford Chance but it is substantially different than Sullivan & Cromwell which has 5/6 trainees. I would...
I did not go to an English school too but if you feel like you have grades that exceed this, I would not worry too much and select yes. However, it depends on your grades. I would not bother sending an email about this, but just select yes if you have high grades in whatever country you went to...
I would say if you have time, apply to all the firms you are interested in and you kind of want to try even though their training contract offers are not substantial. If I looked at the number I would have never got offers from Gibson Dunn or Goodwin (which they only take 8 and 14 people...
It is a really good firm indeed and the cases and transactions you will work on are so interested and all have to do with tech and/or life sciences in a way!
Hey @Seven,
Thanks for reaching out. So, Goodwin assesses us throughout the scheme and the evaluation is based on: Your interaction with everyone at the firm, any piece of work you have been given by associates, partners from the department you are sitting in (but also others if you wish), a...
They do not, they only have an application stage, and then you get invited for an interview, and if you are successful, you obtain the vacation scheme offer (this is for the vacation scheme), this was the process I went through last year at least. For direct training contract, you get invited...
I do not think there is much you have to explain then. This space is usually useful for people like me, who are/were international students or undertook an undergraduate course in a university outside the UK. So, if I were you, I would not worry too much!
As a future trainee at the firm I can say that this year they basically offered majority of offers to the Spring scheme cohort. So I would definitely recommend to apply to that one specifically. This might change from year to year though, since last cycle was the first time they had a Spring...
Congratulations for submitting it! There is definitely no harm! I submitted last year on the 20th of December and received an interview invite the same day I applied! So it is totally possible for anyone to still receive invites.
Good luck with the application!
I personally do not think you need to discuss this in that section of the application, or in any for that matters. I believe that you should demonstrate this improvement whilst you are in the assessment centre. The application should be able to showcase the things that make you stand out, and...
I do not think it is too late to apply! Last year, majority of the people I knew who had offers applied in late December/January. Gibson Dunn is one of those firms that will wait for the candidates they actually like, so I will try my best to apply by end of December.
Yes, I shared some tips on AC here: https://www.thecorporatelawacademy.com/forum/threads/tcla-vacation-scheme-applications-discussion-thread-2023-24.8037/post-151966 which I think could be really useful!
Good luck with it and I am sure you will smash it!!
