I've had 5 ACs across previous cycles so I feel well qualified to answer this question (sarcasm)
I'm not sure about common reasons but here are some DO NOTs that I have done.
1. Don't get into an argument with the Partner on the interview panel during the interview. I don't mean a discussion or...
I would have been sooo happy.... I would have agreed with him, and asked if he wants to just have a formal/ informal interview... (emphasis on the INFORMAL'... Then I would have veered off into what he does and asked him questions lol...
I see that as a blessing... Please tell me the firm so I...
I have never said organisations do not need it
I'm stating that there is alot of lip service
Alot of DEI professionalls have confirmed this
Alot of diverse lawyers have spoken about many partners not seeing the need for diversity at all
So its there, everyone knows it

Thanks for the reply. I did not say non-Oxbridge do not go to client meetings. I meant that in my humble opinion, they will always maintain their Oxbridge base... some non-Oxbridge/Russell group will get the TC but I doubt there will be times when the pitch is entirely or majority non-Oxbridge/...

I've done about 10 VI's and honestly, the questions were all different. They were not even Why Law, Why do you want to work here... Some completely threw me off, asking about firm strategy and values etc. I didn't see a trend, but then perhaps its the type of firm one applies to...
Its just that season... I received 2 PFO's today too... Bird & Bird and Pinsent Masons. I expect every Friday to be eventful now 😂
We've all got this :)
My notes are about 2 pages long. I will send you it. But I really only spoke to the Partners, Associates and trainees who worked in the areas that I was most interested in. I will say that the day was really well run and that Grad Rec were one of the nicest teams around. I think they are quite...
It seems as though you want to retract from the lack of ethnic diversity in the legal profession with this comment.
Ethnic diversity is to increase the number of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic students, as social mobility is to increase the number of students from working class backgrounds...
