Just submitted my seat reservation form for SQE1 in January 2025 a few days ago. I went into it thinking we had to list specifically which test centres we wanted but turns out they only asked us for a postcode and our date preferences.
I currently rent near Canary Wharf thereabouts too so just...
I am currently studying full-time at ULaw, sitting for SQE1 in January 2025 and would like to get more insight into practice / mock tests in preparation for the SQE1.
I am aware of this thread posted some time ago for free / paid practice tests — was wondering if any new ones that anyone is...
Just wanted to add... I have also read bits and bops about how there's a lot of new content to be learnt whilst on the course but there is not enough time to catch up on actual black letter law. For those who have done the SQE with a course provider (e.g. BPP, ULaw), did you find that the...
Hi all,
Recent news about firms revoking TCs for failing the SQE1 has given me quite a lot of jitters. My offer letter also stipulates that my TC offer is conditional upon passing the SQE on first attempt, so failing really isn't an option for me and I want to give myself my best shot at...
Was wondering how much firms emphasis place on minimum A-level grade requirements?
For example, if I want to apply to A&O which has a minimum A-level requirement of AAB but I have not achieved that and have no extenuating circumstances, will my application automatically get filtered out?
I'm...
Hi @Jessica Booker does it ever reflect badly on a candidate if from a candidate's work experience you can tell that they have failed to convert VS into TCs multiple times (across several different firms)? I understand that there is a lot that goes into deciding whether to offer a candidate a TC...
@Jessica Booker Is there any code / best practice that firms typically go by when it comes to deciding how much time they would allow candidates to hold an offer for?
For firms like CC where they offer TCs in candidates' first year of university (through SPARK) I've heard that they give...
Hi was wondering if anyone could offer thoughts about taking a day off from my summer vac scheme to attend my own graduation and how I should go about this conversation with grad rec? I'm personally not too fussed about being able to make it to my graduation so if this isn't possible I'm okay...
Has anyone heard back from Weil for their spring VS post-AC?
✅ - heard back with offer for spring VS post-AC
❌ - rejected from spring VS post-AC
👍 - completed video interview, have not been invited to AC
👎 - PFO post-video interview or PFO post-application form
For context this was my...
Saw a few helpful responses re the article portion of the Slaughters interview - I agree with what other people here have said. If I could add on...
I attended a direct TC interview with Slaughters (was unsuccessful) but the feedback I got was that during the article portion of the interview I...
@Jessica Booker I attended a remote AC recently. I was supposed to join a 15-minute Zoom call right after my associate/HR interview. However my internet crashed right after the interview - I panicked for a bit and by the time I got it back up the 15 minutes was up. I emailed grad rec after...
Hiya, I was wondering when you applied, when you sat for the WG and when did you sit the AC?
Also do you by any chance know whats the percentage of candidates they take from direct TC vs their vac schemes? I managed to get fast tracked to an AC through gaining a place on HL Lift Off but I opted...
I just bombed a VI for a spring vac scheme because I was caught off guard by how long the questions were. For each question here were essentially two subquestions (e.g. why commercial law + skills needed by a commercial lawyer and how you've demonstrated them) but I had to fit my answer within 1...
Been seeing quite a few people receiving video assessment invites from Clyde & Co. I sat their video assessment for the winter vac last year. Didn't get progressed to AC but happy to give you a rough overview of what to expect (without giving away the questions, of course). I couldn't really...
I just submitted mine too and it's the same for me. I'm fairly certain that all these elements were there on the final review page before submitting so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I asked grad rec and they confirmed that the summer scheme is for penultimate year law and non-law students only. And if you are a finalist law/non-law or a graduate you can only apply for winter, spring or direct TC.
