Hi guys, does anyone here knows what AAA for Higher National Diploma (HND) is equivalent to for A Levels? This is a Scottish qualification and when I am applying to English law firms, they mostly don't know the equivalent. The qualification isn't listed on the UCAS tariff calculator either.
It's kinda confusing coz this forum https://www.thecorporatelawacademy.com/forum/threads/winter-spring-and-summer-vacation-scheme-deadlines-2023-24-with-rolling-non-rolling-checklist.7876/ says that its non-rolling, and their website says they review every application regardless of when you...
I would also appreciate if someone could share their views on this. I am thinking of sending the application today or tomorrow (really late ik), but if we do not receive the link before the deadline and they won't review the application for those who do the test after the deadline, then its a...
Hi guys, I don’t have much work experience so I will be volunteering with Citizens Advice from next month, my q is, should I wait maybe a few weeks or a month (say end of Oct) before sending VS applications so that I can discuss my learnings from CA or would the training for advisers not really...
If you’re applying for the VS in your final year and also applying for LLM SQE yourself as backup (in case you do need to self-fund), what happens if you’re lucky enough to get a TC? If its the same provider as the firm’s, would they just manage things directly with the uni?
And in that...
This is something I also want to explore, do you have any tips on how to find firms that do SQE TCs in Scotland @Jessica Booker? I have tried to research any such routes without much success, would it be fruitful to email firms individually? Thanks
Does anyone when AC generally are for direct TC applications? For firms like Eversheds & DWF that have a deadline for end of June & Addleshaw etc that are end of July, is it usually the next month or right before the next cycle begins?
I don't understand Shoosmiths' criteria, I was unsuccessful for VS after the strength test stage, but got an email saying that since I've applied for TC as well, I will hear after screening. They say that I don't need to do the test if I've already done it, so does that mean they will consider...
Hey, I'm a little confused how last year applications work, do you only apply to law firms that hire a year in advance, so that you can join them after doing the sqe or did you also apply to the two year in advance ones?
Same question, except for me it's fourth year due to the llb being 4 years here in Scotland. I guess we have to apply for training contracts mostly instead of VS if it's a year in advance but not sure
Shoosmiths Manchester rejection, and that marks the end of my first app cycle. Now with the LLB final year pressure next year 🙃 Do law firms hire a year in advance or most of them do 2 years ia?
Has anyone emailed Pinsent Masons Manchester office? Coz they have sent test invites to some & PFOs to others but a lot of us haven't heard back at all & seeing this post, they have ACs in a month, so no idea what's going on. Maybe they have a batch system...
