Rejection from Edwin Coe after the first round interview. I was apparently shortlisted to the top ten from the first round which makes me feel a little better, but they are only interviewing the top five for now.

Just FYI - there is a strong possibility that BLM's recruitment is still on hold.

So the Watson Glaser is a better indicator of performance during a TC than A-Level grades. Interesting!

Thanks for this info. The redundancies look to be predominantly in the business support/marketing teams from what I can see. I would have thought they would continue recruitment for trainees but it is getting a bit late in the year now :/ I am supposed to have a place on the training contract...

Giving up - are my grades holding me back?

I achieved a 2.2 overall in my second year and around 62% overall for my LLB. I have passed the application stage at a number of firms, including Linklaters. I agree with the others and would suggest working on your application technique and building up any skills you think you might be...

Sorry to hear this...and I understand the difficulties with funding further education, but is there no way that you can get your employer to sponsor CILEx/SQE fees? If so, you will have qualifying work experience that you can use to your advantage. I decided not to apply for TC's after I...

I agree - I try to view it as experience I can use in my next interview. I think sometime it is easy to get consumed by the interview you have/just had and you view it as your 'one shot', but it isn't - there will be more interviews.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Making it that far in such a competitive cycle is a testament to how strong your application must have been so try to take the positives from it. I am sure that success will be around the corner for you :)

I don't think there is always a correlation between how long it takes grad rec to sift apps and how long it takes them to get back to us. If the vac schemers are still waiting to received offers, I expect that they will know how many spaces they have left after that, so we might be held in a...

Ah amazing! Fingers crossed for a positive outcome from your second round interview! When did you apply out of interest? They seem like an amazing firm. I have heard of people being rejected and invited to interview so not sure what this means for those who have not heard yet...whatever happens...

I am interested in the answer to this too. I usually put 16 roles down (I actually removed a few mini-pupillages from the list recently otherwise it would be 19) as my work history goes back to 2004/2005. For example. I worked three jobs (in a supermarket, a restaurant and a nightclub) whilst...
