In the second email I got after submitting my app, the email said that "If your application is considered, you will find out no later than 14th December 2020" and later on said that "If your application is not considered, you will receive an email confirming that your application will not be...
I remember Grad Rec saying 70% pass the test although I can't remember where I got this from.
WG is mandatory for CC to get to application review. If you don't pass the benchmark, your application won't be reviewed by Grad Rec.
Hi all!
Non-priority candidate for the TCs: Has anyone heard back at all?
The email below indicates that we'll find out by the end of today (14/12) if we move to the next stage (WG)?
If we aren't moved to the next stage, we'll find out by 18/12/2020.
If we are moved to the next stage, we...
Hi guys,
I just did the Mayer Brown tests and for some reason, my apply4law portal is showing up like this:
When I opened the second test, it was exactly the same as the first test :-/
Anyone else experienced this?
Haha I get what you mean! I've had some apps like that where I've maybe done some research or drafting but haven't finished it. As long as you're submitting, that's really all that matters. Some Firm applications are boring, too long, too complex to answer so you're better off doing the ones you...
Thanks for posting this! I've been seeing a lot of SPARK Candidates accepting TC offers on LinkedIn so I did wonder what are the chances for both priority and non-priority candidates this year.
I agree with this.
I'm all down for taking your time but I've learnt there's such a thing as taking too much time. Not only is it counter-productive but you could literally be writing another application during the time it takes you to write one. And if you get rejected, it just feels like a...
Agree with everyone who has said don't worry. You'd be surprised how many manual processes there are when it comes to Grad Rec e.g. recruiters having to send out tests manually to applicants, etc.
I received my answers within 24 hours but I know others who have received theirs after 1 hour and...
Hey!
I'm outside the target group too and I applied. I wasn't able to find what the process would be i.e. will they review priority candidates first and if they're unhappy with the pool they'll review us, etc.
Don't worry about reapplying! CC Grad Rec say that they take each application cycle...
Same here.
I have annual leave limits too. I've got a total of 25 days (which is 5 weeks) but factor in any holidays, taking time off work to relax, etc then I could be left with maybe 2 weeks.
When I started applying, I asked firms whether they have a quota or a preference on VS v TC routes...
Definitely.
I get their POV though. Their SPARK Scheme is a success and more and more of the TC offers are being taken up by SPARK Participants. But, I've always believed that having multiple pipelines gets you the best candidates and so fixating on one pool may not necessarily be wise. But...
Yep they do, actually totally forgot about that. Given this, I think it'll be another week or so.
Their process this cycle is:
1. Grad Rec will review applications and then send a WG test to those they're interested in interviewing.
2. Grad Rec will then review the WG test results and invite...
Congrats!
I don't think we'll hear anything for another 1-2 weeks given that candidates have 7 days (even if they applied on deadline day) to sit the test and applications only closed last week.
I applied for Spring so Summer applicants may be even in for a longer wait.
Huge congratulations! Smashed it!!
Linklaters don't have a preference so if you want to apply for a direct TC, you should. In the past, their trainee intake could be 60 VS and 40 TC but that's not because of a quota but how the recruitment process panned out.
In short, if you're interested...
Waiting on Slaughters too. I think it's been a few weeks. I read in the Forums that some people who applied when apps opened heard back from Slaughters mid-October.
NRF deadline for TC this week. I know that WVS has all been wrapped up. They mentioned in their webinars that you may get an...
Hey!
I wonder that too.
From what it sounds like, I think they will look at their priority pool first and invite who they want to invite. If they have any space or aren't happy with that pool, I think they'll only then look at all the non-priority candidates and invite who they want to invite...
Hi everyone!
As the CC deadline approaches, I wanted to see whether my fellow non-priority candidates will be applying to CC or have applied?
Good luck!
Just got this email:
Thank you for submitting your application to Herbert Smith Freehills and completing our online test.
I can confirm that you have reached the benchmark on our online test and your application is now under review. We will be in touch regarding the outcome of your application...
I just got this email too. Can someone confirm whether that means I've passed their test and my application will be reviewed by Grad Rec?
Don't want to have a sigh of relief if that's not the case haha.
