Totally agree! It's amazing how much better a tailored £100 suit can look than a £1000+ Armani suit that isn't tailored - if you're gonna spend money on suits, 100% much better to spend it on alterations rather than an expensive designer brand in my opinion
In short, if you value your health and the ability to have a life see friends etc. it's not doable haha. The GDL is very full-on with a lot of prep required (I'm treating it like a 9-5 job during the week and even then sometimes I still have to work longer than that) so I would highly recommend...
Regarding your first question, I've thought about this before but I think it's because as lawyers get more senior and work with a client for years, they build up a really good understanding of the client's business and what it's commercial objectives are. As a result, lawyers are often uniquely...
Alright @Jacob Miller we get it you're a future trainee at Travers and they're great blah blah blah ;)
In all seriousness thanks for sharing, that's an interesting development! Will be interesting to see how much of it is implemented, particularly the 'Retail Investors' recommendations
Yeah Sacha Harber-Kelly! I actually had the opportunity to do some work for him on my vac scheme - super nice guy who's incredibly smart as you'd expect

Yeah just to add further evidence of this, my firm Gibson Dunn has an awful lot of lawyers who are ex-US DoJ which no doubt explains why it's so good for white-collar/investigations work
Huge congrats to all of you with Travers VS invites! Make sure you all celebrate your brilliant achievements (you got one step further than me, so I'll raise a glass to you guys this evening haha)
To those who just missed out, if it's any consolation, I was able to get feedback when I reached...
Not sure I totally agree with this tbh. Being a candidate who is trying to sell themselves is hard enough without having to think about the potential views/opinions/experiences of the individual reading your application/listening to your answers in an interview so I have no issue with OP's...
I would try not to worry too much mate! I've been asked a number of questions I didn't know the answer to and just had to concede that "I'm afraid I'm not sure on that one" and whilst it feels pretty rubbish at the time, it's much better admitting what you don't know rather than trying to...
Huge congrats my friend! Absolutely brilliant news - hope you're able to celebrate as you have more than earned it!!! :D
Edit: as others have said, the spreadsheet is outstanding work 👏👏👏
