I found my mum's stash of chocolate and it was a well deserved treat! If you can, get yourself some Japanese kit kats as they are incredible! Would 100% recommend buying the strawberry ones (and what's better you can feel good about yourself because they're mini)!
Of course it’s up to the firm, sometimes they don’t have the space to rearrange but often firms are very accommodating! You have to be mindful that they may not be able to move your interview slot but just asking will absolutely not damage your chances! Law firms (and grad rec) are human, they...
I wanted to share some (commercial) joy and post my favourite FT article to make someone else’s day. And for all those sitting exams I recommend getting Japanese kitkats for good luck!

I second @lawlondon65 post! I did a masters in Art History (after doing an undergrad degree in history) and it was the absolute best time I ever had because I was so deeply passionate about the subject and it really allowed me to hone in on my writing and research skills. The tailored learning...
Omg wow! I submitted in December but having applied to them for the last 3 years I know they take ages so just have to wait! I didn’t get my case study confirmation email in 2020 until July lol
Although I agree with the sentiment here and know exactly how it feels to apply for several cycles and seeing no results, I do think its unfair to prevent those who no doubt worked very hard to get schemes from posting about it when they are asked. Part of the process, for me at least, was...
In my case 0. I only got a VS in my third cycle but I felt my first cycle was a bit of a practice run! Other may have been preparing for ages to apply for their first cycle! It’s not really a quantifiable thing as it really depends on every candidate, their situation, motivation and abilities!
I would really recommend it! They have lots of events (which you are not forced to go to, if you sign up to one you have to let them know if you can’t attend in good time with a reasonable reason and it’s fine! ). They now have fun cultural outings as well so it’s a nice community to join! I...
Yes I agree!! I was a bit thrown by them but I really felt like I was incredibly lucky in that I had answers for them!
1) For number one, I am incredibly lucky that my boyfriend is studying to become a barrister and we often talk about cases. In this instance we had discussed a case (Pakistan...
A few of my hardest were:
1) Should the Courts have the power to invalidate a signed contract? (as a non-lawyer this was quite tough)
2)(In the case study) can you tell me what a clause in a contract between these parties would include?
3) Where should lawyers draw the line morally with...
AS isn't just for BAME, it also includes state school, first to go to university, disability and LGBTQ+ individuals so definitely sign up if you fall into any of these categories too! :)
Honestly, you really only need a basic understanding of commercial terms. A lot of it is just common sense but I'd recommend understanding the basics of M&A and especially the pros and cons of M&A (share and asset purchase). Also understanding what is on a balance sheet is helpful (I didn't know...
Congrats! That's a great achievement! I did Mishcon's case study way back in 2020 and it was one of the most enjoyable case studies I ever did! Really interesting and very focused on their unique sectors (think PR/Reputation/Private Client). It was just such good fun and a really calm...
