Ah, I'm currently on a skilled worker's visa and not sure how this will affect me eligibility for vac schemes - I fully regret not opting for the graduate visa instead. Will check with the firm or an immigration service. But thanks for pointing that out, @Jessica Booker!
Has anyone on here ever done a vac scheme whilst they were on a skilled worker's visa? This may just be me speaking into the void since I suspect most people on here are students, on a graduate visa, or UK nationals. Grateful for any insights :)
Probably a basic question - but does anyone know how long Sullivan & Cromwell's cover letter should; who it should be addressed to; and any other formatting requirements. Can't seem to find much info on the vac scheme page
I wouldn't pay much attention to his advice. A 2.1 is the requirement set by most firms (so good on you for getting that 64!). Moreover, I wager your professor doesn't know much about your background, work experiences, your motivations, and mitigating circumstances - which are all important...
Definitely send grad recruitment an email and inform them of what happened. This happened to me and the firm withdrew my application and permitted me to submit at a later date. Good luck!
This issue is basically affecting anyone who applies through Allhires. The same thing happened to me when submitting Gibson Dunn, Jones Day, and Shearman. I wouldn’t worry about it :)
Sullivan and Cleary both ask for high 2.1s - I only managed a 66 overall. I want to apply but feel like this may put me out of the running.
Would be keen to hear any insights or whether anyone’s been successful applying with a mid 2.1 :)
