Hi, it is definitely worth contacting Student Finance, as Jessica said it has changed relatively recently. I have just had my application approved and they specified that you can have up to 4 years undergraduate, £11.5ishk for post grad then £27ishk for PHD's.
Can I just say that there is no hate here! We all know how difficult this process is and this forum is so full of support and reassurance for each other that you have nothing but cheerleaders for your success! Well done for securing 2 offers, that is no mean feat and you should feel so proud of...
Also to add that there is one holiday week at Xmas and 2 at Easter. Other than that there are 2 revision weeks before each set of exams so 6 in total for the year.
I am on the online GDL atm and the final exam is the 10th Sept with LPC induction week starting on the 20th. If you want to start the LPC straight away you have to sign a form saying that you are happy to start before you receive your results but will be immediately removed if you receive a fail...
No choice for me really as I work full-time so am on the online GDL atm and will start LPC in Sept. The nearest campus is over an hour drive each way so just not feasible to attend in person.
Being more skills based I would prefer to attend in person workshops but I am trusting that ULaw have...
I have the following firms on file from direct TC's this cycle (trying not to duplicate the above):
Barcan+Kirby
Please describe what excellent client service means to you in the context of a law firm.
Tell us about the most rewarding experience you have had working in a team environment. Why...
I am doing the GDL at ULaw atm and they are 3 hour exams but if taken online as opposed to in person you get 4 hours in total before it closes. Mainly as there are delays when accessing it (as everyone is trying to download the paper at the same time) and the same again when uploading at the...
I second what has already been said as they should be genuine. In my recent AC I asked about any future plans or opportunities for the firm as they had decided to close one of their offices and promote flexible and home working, questions around how they assess trainees and what they would...
Just had an email from Browne Jacobson saying thank you for completing the assessments and they will be in touch later this month....the deadline for completing my assessments was the 13th June! They really must be busy
I know some of you are also waiting to hear back but we have not been...
I would accept the role but be clear about your intentions and any AC's that you already have scheduled that you would need time off for. Unless these are for TC's starting in 2021 then you have time to build valuable experience and earn whilst you await your start date if successful in securing...
In a DM someone said that this was just what they needed to hear, so I have copied it here for anyone else that may benefit from a boost during this difficult application season.
The main thing to remember is that it is not about how good you are. You could literally be the absolute best...
I think this is a great topic to cover as most of the time it isn't necessarily about your answer but how you analyse the question. Not for law but I recall once being asked how many dragons would fit in a football stadium? What type of dragon, Welsh, Chinese, GoT? Fully grown? Fit standing up...
That is fantastic!
Throughout my time on this forum your name has consistently popped up offering support and invaluable insight so it is great to see that this has been noticed! Thank you for everything that you have contributed to this forum. You are a star!
Well done and well deserved
Hi Matt! Welcome to TCLA!
I am also a career changer on my first TC application cycle this year so know exactly how it feels!
TCLA is a great resource, the members are friendly and really supportive and there is great advice on all aspects of the process. The hardest thing I found was...
