Yes, you should include any academic results. For instance, you’d be expected to provide LLM grades even though an LLM is not necessary for the career.
Yes - I don’t see why not. As part of any conversion process you could raise at that point that you would want to seek deferred entry to accommodate your military commitments.
No matter what people tell you, it really doesn't work like this unfortunately for the following reasons:
It varies from firm to firm depending on eligibility of the schemes - the more open the scheme is to different groups of people, the more competitive in terms of application numbers it can...
It wouldn't be practical during your TC but could be done either before the GDL or between the GDL/SQE (although I am not sure it would be advisable to study law for a year to then risk forgetting it ahead of your SQE prep/assessments), or even between finishing the SQE and starting the TC...
It’s hard to review only a short section of an application because you don’t know how it fits into everything you are writing.
There will need to be more detail on law specifically though. Client service is just one aspect of law, but many other jobs have this same aspect so I would recommend...
Supposedly that is the case in terms of academics. However, I have seen enough people with average graders get into Slaughters to know it’s not a hard and fast rule and that if they can find other parts of your application exceptional they may be more interested in that than just your academics.
R can also be about reflection, so if you feel you have personally gained something from the situation, that is also a result (and that’s what the reflection focuses on).
Posts like this make me so happy!
Congratulations and incredibly well done on your efforts, not just this year but over the last six cycles. Your determination has clearly been worth it and I am delighted to hear that TCLA has helped contribute to your journey.
I’d recommend avoiding the first sentence - you won’t believe how many times that exact sentence will be used in applications, and especially as an opening line.
For the graduate apprenticeships, you won’t be eligible for the training if you have self funded either the LPC/SQE as you have already completed a qualification of the same educational level/in the same topic. This means some firms may have eligibility criteria that you haven’t self-funded.
Anticipated forum downtime:
Hi everyone - just to mention you may find it difficult to access the forums this afternoon (around 3pm) for around an hour or so as we are doing some technical work to upgrade our servers.

What a wonderful way to bow out!
Congratulations and incredibly well done. Perseverance is a very important quality to have when you are a lawyer, and you will have had that in bucket loads to keep going over the last five cycles.
You definitely deserve one of my cheesy standing ovation GIFs!
Hi there - unfortunately there is a bit of a delay in me responding to PMs at the moment due to the volume received. I will try and come back to yours as soon as possible.
You are usually limited to the number of applications you can make each cycle, so you will have to check each firm’s policy on reapplying.
Sidley don’t have such a policy but do stress your application has to be significantly different to your last one if you are to reapply, and it is unlikely...
They may pay for a hotel given the distance you would need to travel. Maybe contact the firm first to ask what their policy on that is. Its not uncommon for firms to provide accommodation the night before an open day for those who cannot travel in that morning (e.g. from...
For most firms, this will not be an issue.
Some firms that really emphasise the need for strong and consistent grades may be more difficult to aim for, but they are a small minority of the firms out there.
