TCLA Direct Training Contract Applications Discussion Thread 2022-23

It's been a while since I've posted on the forum but really happy to say that I've accepted the TC offer from Dentons! TCLA was a huge part of my application journey and a tremendous help. I really appreciate everything the team and the community does on this platform. I will continue lurking...

Hi, I did my AC last month and haven't heard back since then - if they've filled all their spaces, I'm guessing PFO?

Those who have done Denton's TC AC, how long did you wait until you heard back? Pretty sure grad rec said a week, but it's coming up to two weeks with no word

Do law firms typically reimburse travel expenses during VS?

Should I reply back and say haha thanks for the April Fools joke, I'll see you on Monday for my first day

It really depends on the firm - if they've told you that you'd hear back within a couple of days after AC, then yh you should email since it's been 2 weeks. If they've told you you'll be waiting around 2 weeks, then I'd wait another week or two before emailing. If they've not given you a...

Hiya, it's a bit unclear if 23:59 is the deadline... all I know is that Ashurst likes to close apps at like noon or 4pm for their VS so I'd try and get it in asap

Hmm, if possible, I'd submit it early just so you don't lose out. Like at least by close of business

You'll have to check their website. Normally it does mean 11:59pm, but for Ashurst they always close apps at midday for some reason. Although that is for the VS though, so I don't know if that's different for TC

I just got an email from Dentons because all spaces have been filled for vac schemes but they've offered an AC for direct TC... Anyone else had this experience before?

I'd say give your employer a call too, it's nice to give them a heads up

I think they only contact if they're going to offer you a TC (I'm not too sure about the vac schemes)

Apologies I should have clarified - they make recruit and make offers on a rolling basis. just wondered whether by May/June, there's less chance

If a firm recruits on a rolling basis but my interview isn't until May/June - are my chances diminished due to spaces filling up?
