    It is firm specific. However, most people find out their practice area seats 1-2 weeks before. Some firms wont tell you your supervisor/buddy until the first day.

    Drink a big coffee before, it is long-winded... But in all seriousness, just be familiar with how a deal works, the kind of risks involved (legal and commercial), and the best way to present that to a client/partner. (the case study situation isn't the same for everyone).
